So, I’m super psyched about a new musical group/project I’m a part of, we are calling ourselves, “Phonograph Team Project”! It’s original music in the melodic “Modern Jazz” vein (think recent Tom Harrell type of vibe). On Drums is Tommaso Monopoli and on piano is Gianluca Grasso. I’m very excited about the music we are creating. More info soon!

I noticed “Dajinosaurus” (my 2006 ‘jazz fusion’ release on Dinosaurus Records) is on Pandora, that takes me back a few years but was really nice to come across, I’m not sure how long it’s been there. It looks like I also have a Pandora Artist page, fun stuff.

Juniper Snowberries was just reviewed (short take) by Minor 7th.com. Some excerpts (© Chip O’Brien)

‘It brings to mind Pat Matheny and some of the solo multi-track recordings he did early on, particularly on “New Chautauqua.”‘…

‘He shows a great range of dynamic emotive power as well. “Summer Song” and “Sound Furies, Furyless,” solo acoustic arrangements, both speak to Wright’s gentler side, as well as his ability to craft a compelling melody.’.

“The result is pleasing and, above all, fresh.”
